DREAMKEY PARTNERS

Managed the response to DreamKey Partners' response to RFP to transform the Economy Inn Hotel site in Charlotte, NC into affordable, for-sale townhomes.

 

  • Managed financial analysis to determine unit mix and income mix in the proposed development.

 

  • Collaborated with the architect to get a proposed site layout.

 

  • Created the narrative arc, wrote the text, and completed the design layout of the response to RFP.

NEW MEXICO
COMMUNITY TRUST

Problem Statement: After Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) and the eviction moratorium ended in New Mexico, how can organizations across New Mexico prevent evictions.

 

  • Analyzed eviction data at the census tract level and identified eviction trends, i.e., which census tracts experiences the most evictions, the most per capita evictions, and the evictions with the shortest time frame.

 

  • Conducted a landscape analysis of eviction best practices across the country to identify possible interventions.

 

  • Identified stakeholders and potential partners across New Mexico that can play a role in eviction prevention strategies.

CALIFORNIA COALITION FOR RURAL HOUSING

Partnered with Matt Huerta Consulting LLC to create the curriculum for the California Coalition for Rural Housing's new Visionary Rural Housing Leadership Program to help rural housing organizations in California, Oregon, and Washington recruit and retain emerging professionals of color.

 

  • Managed listening sessions with CCRH-member organizations to understand priorities for fellowship.
     

  • Developed discreet modules and workshops that build individual leadership skills and develop the Fellows' technical project management skills.

 

  • Fellowship expected to launch in early 2024.
     

  • Learn more about becoming a learning facilitator and/or coach.

CALIFORNIA HOUSING PARTNERSHIP

Led the analysis and supported the writing for Policy Brief “Who Can Afford to Rent in California’s Many Regions?” to better understand housing affordability across California.

 

  • Compared 2019 Area Median Incomes (AMI) with scrubbed Craigslist rental data in every county (or Fair Market Rents (FMR) in counties where the Craigslist sample size was too small) to understand affordability.
     

  • Used geospatial software to visually represent affordability at the county level across California.

MASSDEVELOPMENT

Led this mixed-method report to identify how public officials, nonprofit leaders, and other stakeholders can respond to the problem of commercial vacancies in older, formerly industrial cities in Massachusetts known as 'Gateway Cities'.

 

  • Analyzed parcel-level data in commercial corridors across four Gateway Cities participating in MassDevelopment's Transformative District Initiative (TDI) in order to understand ownership and vacancy patterns.

 

  • Conducted semi-structured interviews with local stakeholders and economic development experts to identify challenges of revitalization of commercial areas.

 

  • Conducted a landscape analysis and literature review of best practices for reducing commercial corridors in post-industrial cities.
